Description
As a partner of the Pelagos Sanctuary Charter, operator of the Natura 2000 site at Cap Ferrat, and the driving force behind the creation of a Marine Protected Area (MPA) in Nice, the Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur aims to strengthen its commitment to marine mammal protection.
This will be achieved through the development and implementation of a local action plan that supports the new management plan of the Pelagos Sanctuary. The plan will focus on three main areas:
Reducing local pressures on marine mammals;
Enhancing local knowledge through ongoing monitoring and citizen participation;
Raising awareness among local stakeholders and the public;
A project manager will be recruited to work with the Métropole's marine environment team to develop the plan.
